Nurse Shark

Nurse shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum) gets its name from its off-white body and flat head which is like wearing a nurse’s cap. Unlike other sharks, it eats by sucking, and the sucking force in its mouth is the equivalent of 12 vacuum cleaners. It is a nocturnal shark that likes to swim in groups of up to 40. They have a strong preference for specific resting areas, they will return to the same place after a night’s activity.
