At the Seal Point of the park’s Polar Aquarium, there are two kinds of seals: the grey seals being from Norway, and the spotted seals being from the Bohai Sea. They have big and cute eyes and look very cute.
In order to adapt to the cold environment, seals have a thick accumulation of fat. This fat allows them to keep their body temperature between 36 and 37℃, just like humans. In addition to providing heat, fat also provides buoyancy. They can swim at speeds of up to 27 kilometers per hour. They are also very good divers, usually able to dive about 100 meters. Seals spend most of their time in the sea and only live on land when they shed and breed. In the park, you can also see seals tapping their bellies for food.
The fur seal is a kind of mammal living in the ocean. They are called sea dogs because their heads like the dogs’ heads. They have a spindle shaped body, a round head, big eyes and small ears. Their fur is so thick and smooth that they are called “fur seals”. Their backs are brownish gray or blackish-brown, their bellies’ color are lighter, and their limbs are fin-shaped, which are good for swimming in the water. Once on land, they could walk slowly on four limbs. When you feed the fur seals, you can see how cute the fur seals are.

There is a mermaid fairy tale in everyone’s heart. Meeting the mermaid, the daughter of the sea, is the dream of many people in childhood. The mermaid show brings fairy tales to the sea world. In the blue water, a few beautiful and elegant colored figures in the colorful fish school slowly dive down from the water and appear in front of the audience. The elegant and graceful mermaids swim lightly in the sea, sometimes turn their beautiful “fishtails” to face the audience, wave their arms and draw a heart-shaped pattern with bubbles, as if telling the legend of the sea, bringing the audience into the mysterious sea world.
The children’s show Ne Zha is a collaboration between Qujiang Polar Ocean Park and Xi’an Children’s Art Theater based on the classic Chinese fairy tale Ne Zha Conquers the Dragon King. On the basis of respecting the original, we made a reasonable adaptation and innovation. In terms of plot, it weakens the vengeful mood in the original work and some violent scenes which are not suitable for modern children to watch. Instead, we use an exaggerated and humorous performance form to present the ancient story to suit the modern stage aesthetic. At the same time, in order to show the splendid dramatic scenes of the fairy tale, we use a lot of high-tech stage equipment and diversified forms of stage performance, integrating acrobatics, martial arts, wiya, puppets, music, dance, special effects, video and other means to strengthen the stage effect, and strive to present the ancient story with new ideas.
