The entire length of the tunnel is 80 meters, with a water storage capacity of 2,700 tons. The water temperature is controlled at 26-28℃ with special devices all year to ensure the healthy growth of marine creatures, such as sharks, rays, groupers, turtles (“the god of longevity in the sea”). The underwater viewing tunnel shows us a panoramic, multi-angle view of marine life, similar to that of a diver.

The display windows on the wall of the jellyfish gallery shows us the jellyfish’s growth process that the sperms and eggs of adult jellyfish combine in the sea to form the floating larvae, which attach to hard surfaces and develop into polyps. The jellyfish exhibition area begins with a 20-meter-long jellyfish curtain wall showing thousands of Moon jellyfish.

Polar Aquarium
The Polar Aquarium, which was completed on February 5, 2013, is designed with the concept of bionic architecture of polar marine animals, and its shape is simple and lively. The Polar Aquarium is mainly blue and white, which fully reflects the concept of “ocean and polar”. The Polar Aquarium covers 55,000 square meters, with a total investment of 512 million yuan. It is mainly composed of Polar Science Popularization Area, Fur Seal Iceberg, Amazon Viewing Tunnel, Polar Bear Outlook, Sea Lion Opera House, 360-degree Panoramic Viewing Tunnel, Joy Theater, Arctic Wolf Snowstorm Cave, Seal Point, Polar Adventure Ship, Penguin Bay, showing polar bears, penguins, arctic wolves, seals, fur seals and other animals, as well as dolphin show, sea lion show and other marine cultural themed performances from various angles.
Polar Science Popularization Area: There is the treasure of the park--a specimen of the skeleton of Bryde’s whale which is 13.5 meters long and can reach 14 meters with its tail fin. If it is restored to its original shape, it can weigh up to 20 tons.
Fur Seal Iceberg: The sea dogs live there. Sea dogs get their name because their heads resemble the heads of dogs, and because of they are hairy, they are also called “fur seals”. On June 19, 2015, Qujiang Polar Ocean Park successfully bred the first fur seal, named “Lu Hu”. So far, 17 fur seals have been successfully bred at the Iceberg.
Amazon Viewing Tunnel: It is 23 meters long and 3 meters wide. There are freshwater fish inhabiting the Amazon River, and you can observe the life dynamics of Arapaima and Iridescent shark-catfish from 270 degrees.
Polar Bear Summer Display Area: It covers 575 square meters and holds 250 cubic meters of water. There are polar bears. The polar bears Escka and Cissy are twins brought in and bred by the park from Thailand in 2013. They are now 11 years old that is less than 30 years old in human terms. Polar bears live to be around 25 years old in the wild, but longer in captivity. In addition to feeding them beef, chicken and fruits and vegetables, we also provide Russian herring and prepare special food for them during festivals, such as honey Zongzi for the Dragon Boat Festival. The Polar Bear Observatory on the second floor is the best place to see polar bears. From the observatory, you can have a 360-degree view of the polar bears through the view window in front of you, whether they are wandering around the display area or interacting with objects on the ground or in the water. Since polar bears were introduced from Thailand, they have adapted to the living environment of (0℃ to 26℃). If the temperature there exceeds 26℃, we will use special refrigeration to cool down the water and keep the water temperature in the reservoir at about 20℃, so as to ensure the quality of life of polar bears.
Polar Bear Winter Display Area: It covers 75 square meters and holds 100 cubic meters of water. Here lives a “Half-blood Prince” born of a brown bear and a polar bear. There is a story about him: The Mummy Polar Bear could not find food where she lived, so she went to the forest to look for food, and met the brown bear living in the forest on the way. Then they fell in love, and gave birth to the “Half-blooded Prince”. Therefore, its fur color looks not white but brown. It has a very special name, Cami that was voted when it first came to the park in 2009.
Sea Lion Opera House: The acrylic view window was designed and manufactured by Renault, an American company. The Sea Lion Opera House is 7 meters deep and is home to North American sea lions, the largest of the sea lions. Sea lions are gentle and like to gather together. They usually feed on fish, squid and jellyfish.
Joy Theater: At regular times of the day, you can see wonderful Bottlenose dolphin shows here. Dolphins belong to the family Cetacea and are 2 to 3 meters long. Dolphins inhabit in the sea, but they are not fish, are mammals that breathe by their lungs like us.
360-degree Panoramic Viewing Tunnel: The tunnel is 17 meters long, suspended 7 meters deep in the pool. Here are the Russian sturgeons that native to Russia, like the manta rays we just learned about, are cartilaginous fish. Sturgeon is one of the earliest extant vertebrates.
Seal Point: There are two kinds of seals: the grey seals being from Norway, and the spotted seals being from the Bohai Sea. Seals are carnivorous marine mammals found all over the world, especially at the cold poles. There is a lighthouse and the remains of two sunken ships where seals often rest and play. In order to increase the close interaction between you and the seals, you can feed the seals up close.
Arctic Wolf Snowstorm Cave: Located on the second floor of the Polar Aquarium, there are arctic wolves. The arctic wolf, also known as the white wolf, is mainly found in northern Eurasia, northern Canada and northern Greenland. They are social animals. The size of the wolf pack varies from 2 to 40, and each pack has a specific feeding order. They were gray and white, with a thick coat of hair and sharp teeth that help them kill their prey.
Penguin Bay: There are Magellanic penguins (Spheniscus magellanicus). The Magellanic penguins are the largest penguin in temperate regions. They were first discovered in 1519 by the famous navigator Magellan, so the later scientists named the penguin after him.
