Squirrelfish is mainly distributed in Taiwan and South China Sea. This kind of fish is red all over the body and the scales look golden. It is a nocturnal fish. Red is its best protective color. Because the red spectrum is quickly absorbed in shallow water, the squirrelfish is not obvious in the natural environment, looking gray. In the wild, they prefer to inhabit caves or places with large rocks, and males, in particular, prefer to occupy territory.
