Shy and gentle, Silver dollar likes to swim in groups. The Silver dollar is a neurotic fish, which is not suitable for mixing with fierce fish. Their suitable living temperature is between 23~28℃, but sharp objects should be avoided in the aquarium, so as to avoid they will be injured and infected by bacteria. The herbivorous Silver dollar has a gnawing habit and often gnaws the roots of aquatic plants in the wild. During the flood season, when the water is high, they will eat the fruit hanging in the river. But because both the stone and the shell are indigestible, they usually eat only the flesh and expel the indigestible. Artificially raised Silver dollar is usually fed with small and medium particles of floating and semi-floating.
