African prince (Labidochromis chisumulae) is native to Africa. They are in colors, most commonly yellow, a little different at different periods. There is a black stripe on their dorsal fin that extends directly to the tail. There are males and females, with males being slightly larger. Although they are small, they are very territorial and the adults can be very aggressive. African prince is bred by means of mouth incubation. If the temperature is suitable, they reproduce every 2 to 3 weeks, regardless of seasonal restrictions. The female holds fertilized eggs in her mouth to hatch. After hatching, the mother fish will protect the young fish for a period of time, and can hold the fry in her mouth when in danger.
